Since my fursona is a kind of chimera she can change what parts are what at will....so instead of the wolf being the base animal....here it is the snow leopard

Hey ive been thinking about trying out SL. How to you get into editing your avvy like that and is there any way to make it 4 legged?

Well I specialize more in avie mashing then actual designing of parts. I buy alot of avis and just interchange the parts of the different avis since I get bored of one look for too long. Though I do have my standard fall backs like my sergal sona and my fursona that is still in the works. I can do retextures though, and as far as a quad? That is something that you would either have to again, mash avis to obtain or you could custom order a quad avi from an avi maker who is open to customs. I tried my hand at the whole avi mashing for a quad though still kinda tweaking that one.

those are the only two shots I have of my feral sona in sl....again was a huge work in progress that never had an end >.> I got lazy with that one.

Yeah i was just wondering cause im not even sure where to start haha! I remembered seeing yours when i was looking at refs and i thought id ask since your avvie looked pretty awesome. I like the ferals too

Do you know what program people use for making the customs? because ive been looking for a reason to get into 3d rendering i just never had a reason

Thanks for the info btw. This is all pretty confusing and finding information on it has proven difficult.

Well I know a majority of makers use either Blender, or Maya though maya you have to pay for >.>

I know people who use both and there are plenty of youtube tutorials for both programs. I started to mess with blender a bit but I work full time so I kinda stopped >.>

Blender is free though and from what I have heard with a little help its pretty easy to pick up! Hope this helps. Also if you have an sl account I could help with some retexturing or avi mashing if you would like. I've been on sl since 2008 so I know a few things that might help. I could also help you get started if you aren't already!

.Yay now i have a place to start! Yeah rendering seems pretty time consuming but id like to get into it. Ive been procrastinating for a while lol. Id like to learn how to make mods for games like skyrim and stuff too.
But yeah thats super helpful! I know who to come to for my sl questions now haha!
